Home Prices Remain Flat In New England Housing Market

The RE/MAX of New England September Monthly Housing Report indicates that activity and homes sales are up year-over-year in New England by 5.7%, with Rhode Island experiencing a 17.4% increase in sales. The median price remains flat for most states, a trend we’ve experienced over the last seven months. In addition, the number of pending sales for September is 35.9%.

“September’s numbers are encouraging. However, election years tend to result in lower consumer confidence,” Dan Breault, Executive Vice President and Regional Director of RE/MAX of New England. “In New England, we’ve seen an increase in activity throughout 2012, however, prices need to increase to realize a full housing market recovery. We’ll be watching the data post election cycle, carefully.”
